Over the past year, I’ve watched men around me in their most tender moments. Life slowly unraveling, becoming different from what they had planned. The things they considered most tangible removed from their grasp.
My heart hurts for them. But inside I hope for them.
I hope they find peace.
I hope they find the meaning of times such as these.
I hope their hearts are able to leap again, knowing they can carry on.
And that God loves them.
I pray that they know deep down inside that people like me hope for them, and no longer expect them to be strong each minute of the day.
And with a gentle touch of comfort, they are able to see that it is okay to admit your back is tired from carrying the weight of your world on your shoulders.
It is okay to cry out for help.
It is okay to let the Lord lift that weight from your weakened shoulders and wipe any tears it may have left behind.
Because everything is going to be okay.
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
