When I look at the things that inspire me in a positive way, they all make me think about my life and the goodness of God. I find His presence weaved their fabric, even though they aren’t overtly religious or spiritual. Here are some reads I found that allow us to think about God as we think about what inspires us and how it can change us:
1. In an article titled You Are Not Enslaved to Your Past, author, minister, and teacher John Piper calls us to see that our lives can change for the better, and that our backgrounds and upbringings don’t have to shape our future.
2. In Our Good Shepherd, my friend Karina Allen writes for (in)courage and explains how one Bible verse can inspire and encourage us, especially when change is hard and makes us feel unsteady.
3. What We Do, It Matters is an (in)courage blog post by Debbie McDaniel. Here, she shares how one moment inspired her to change for the better.
This is Day 17 of the series, 31 Days of Inspired Living. Join me through the month of October as I write about what I think it looks like to find the inspiration that makes us better. I’ll also offer some encouragement for your journey. In case you missed a day, you can find previous posts in the series here.
