I started the year with intentions to be focused, and full of energy…but just a third of the way into 2012, I am empty…again.

My intention was to live a more active life, and get things done.

However, lately it seems like there’s been more inactivity, and hardly any doing.

My mornings start by repeatedly reaching to smack the snooze button on my alarm clock. And they continue with me rushing to make it out of the door on time. What I came to know as the best part of my day…non-existent. My to-do list…getting longer by the week with things left behind from previous days.

I haven’t been singing on Sundays at church. I haven’t been writing much through the week. And I haven’t been to the gym at all.

Somehow, I managed to welcome every bug and virus that found its way into my presence over the last couple months…and it’s really taken a toll.

I ache. I can barely talk without my throat hurting. And my desk at work has been littered with tissue, cough drops, anti-bacterial wipes and sanitizer.

And to think, I was the person who never seemed to get sick.

I feel like my body is on E.

And I am just hoping I can find more of the fuel I need to recharge and keep going.

  1. Hang in there…give yourself time to get over your bug and I’m sure you will find yourself filing up once again! And saying goodbye to EMPTY!

  2. Oh, Claresa, I feel your heart! Don’t be too hard on yourself. We all go through seasons of feeling empty. Focus on only two things during this season–rest and drawing closer to the Lord. Seek His strength to sustain you. You will fill again! Praying that the Lord fills you today with His Spirit.

  3. Dear Claresa,

Praying for the Lord’s healing touch upon your body. To restore you and fill your physical, emotional and spiritual tanks. Praying that during this season the Lord will reveal Himself to you in a special way, something that you can carry with you once He walks you through this valley.

PS…thank you for being open and transparent!

    Blessings sweet sister in Christ…Susan

    1. Thank you for your encouraging words. I’m working on getting refocused so I can have more time to rest. I keep telling myself it’s okay to take time out for myself.
