All my life, I’ve been known as the quiet girl. So it’s not surprising to know that I hate being put on the spot and speaking aloud in intimate settings. I just feel like everyone is judging me when that may not be the case at all.

  1. I do the same. I shrink down hoping I’ll disappear and won’t get called. I feel that everyone is judging the sincerity of the prayer because I am stumbling to find the right words; that my lack of fluency would be judged as not having a connection with God, because if I did I wouldn’t struggle when praying out loud in a group.

  2. Hi!! I also struggle with praying aloud. It feels unnatural for me because I’m an introvert. Plus when I try I’m not able to be in the moment with God because I’m thinking about what to say. And like you, I think people are judging me. I truly believe that God hears our prayers whether they are said out loud or to our selves or even written in our journals. We serve a magnificent omnipotent and omniscient God. Still… I’d love to be able to pray over others out loud. Thank you for writing this post. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. Blessings to you!
