In old worn pajamas
Her bed head
Tousled and squeezed
into messy ponytails
Scheduled days
Becoming unscheduled chaos
The kind that comes calling
And crying for mama
But with night comes the quiet
Only lullabies sing sweet hymns
As she sits rocking a baby
into sleepy dreams
Dizzied by the day,
Her soul rests
Allowing her to hear
The still small whisper
She craves
